Pet Breeding in Marietta, GA
You can trust us through the entire breeding process. We understand the unique needs of your pet and are here to help you along the way. Providence Veterinary Clinic provides many services so responsible breeders can maximize the dog’s chances of a successful pregnancy. We can accurately pinpoint the most optimal day(s) to begin breeding using progesterone timing.
When a bitch comes into season, every 6 months, timing is critical in every step of the breeding process — from pinpointing ovulation through progesterone testing to selecting the timing of insemination. Successful breeding depends on determining the optimum time for insemination. Factors that need consideration include how the semen is prepared, how a particular female cycles, and her reproductive history. Once pregnancy is confirmed, the gestation period is 63(+/-2) days from ovulation. We perform elective c-sections based on ovulation and progesterone timing.
If you’re ready to breed your stud dog now or are concerned about the quality of the dog’s semen, or if you’re just looking to preserve your dog’s breeding ability long after he’s gone, Providence Veterinary Clinic has solutions for you. Most male dogs are easily collected in the office, and we provide semen analysis and morphology.
We offer full in-house progesterone testing and vaginal cytology. Artificial and surgical insemination are the two different breeding methods offered. Pregnancy diagnosis is performed using ultrasound, and we offer digital x-rays to ensure an accurate puppy count.
